A delegation of Year 10 students welcomed educators from the Stand Up! project to help them explore discrimination and racism.

The Stand Up! workshop was followed with a visit to Home (Cinema and Theatre) to watch an exciting retelling of one of Shakespeare’s best-known, and most controversial, plays - The Merchant of Venice. Set in 1936, and with Fascism sweeping across Europe, this vivid new interpretation explodes from the stage as prejudice and power collide in a dark chapter of Britain’s history. Inspired by their recent learning, students were enabled to delve much deeper into the storylines and characters, questioning their own  responses and attitudes towards them during the performance.
