Preparing to Lead - Masters in Education and Leadership

An intensive Leadership Programme designed to help you prepare for new challenges and responsibilities. You will discover the heart, soul and mind of true leadership. You'll explore leadership as a strategist, coach, manager, communicator, mentor and team member. You will learn how to develop your own unique style of leadership.

Course content

1. 360 Diagnostic (in association with Smithfield Performance):

Who am I and how do others see me? Quickly identify your strengths and developmental areas.

2. Leading the School:

For 38 weeks (the full academic school year) you will be attached to various SLT members whilst you deal with day to day behavioral, safeguarding and strategic issues.Building up a portfolio of experience that will be invaluable in future roles, whilst building relationships at CHS.  

3. Face to Face Facilitator:

Experienced facilitators will develop your understanding of the four key areas of a school:

  • Teaching & Learning
  • Behaviour
  • Leadership at all levels
  • Outcomes

You will experience the 'bigger picture' and develop your understanding of stakeholder engagement, pupil development and staff well-being.

4. School to School Support:

Two half day visits with a focus on your final year project.

Assessment

A portfolio of evidence based on the CHS Leadership Standards with reflective Masters level writing. Work at your own pace with deadlines designed to accomodate 'busy times' in the school calendar.

What do I achieve?

180 credits = Masters in Education from Manchester Metropolitan University
