Emily is a member of the local community in Chorlton. She has two young children who attend Chorlton Park Primary School. Emily has worked as a finance professional all her career and is currently employed as Director of Finance for AQA. Emily joined the Chorlton High Local Governing Body as she wanted to use her wide range of skills in a volunteering capacity.
Claire is the parent of a current Chorlton High student and the Director of Communications, Marketing and Student Recruitment at the University of Manchester. Claire has extensive experience of leadership in Higher Education and has previously been a trustee for a European charity. Claire joined the Chorlton High School Governing Body as she was keen to use her skills and experience in a voluntary capacity within the local community. Claire is also Vice Chair of the Governing Body.
Sharmishtha joined the Governing Body as a Parent Governor in Spring 2024. She has a child in the Lower School at CHS. Sharmishtha is a GP who works in children’s mental health services and safeguarding teams. She is passionate about community, wellbeing, and education
Fabian is an Assistant Headteacher at Pioneer House SEND High School. Prior to being a SEND teacher, he worked overseas in both language schools and early years settings. He took up the position as SEND governor to support Chorlton High’s development and to be a part of their journey. Fabian understands the need for accountability within schools and his skillset is well suited to the role.
Mandie is a Labour and Co-operative councillor representing Chorlton Park ward. She has lived and worked in the local area for 26 years. Her professional career was in voluntary, and third sector management and she has extensive senior management and governance experience. She recently retired from the 'day job' to focus on being a councillor.
Alf Parrington is a Co-opted Governor serving on the Chorlton High School LGB. He is the chairperson of the Mainstream Resources and Finance Committee, as well as sitting on the Audit Committee. Professionally, Alf has experience in Finance and Management, as well as many years experience working in the Further Education Sector.
Gary is a Co-opted Governor and has two children at Chorlton High. Professionally he is a qualified accountant and CEO of technology business. He has lived in Chorlton for 20 years and joined the governing body to use his experience to help Chorlton High continue to thrive and develop.
Prior to taking up a position on the Chorlton High School Governing Body, Angela was a Parent Governor and then Chair at a local primary school MAT. Angela understands the complexities of governance in an academy and the importance of each LGB having a strong voice on the Trust Board. Angela also runs her own counselling practice in Chorlton and is a counsellor in a high school.
Lizi has taught at CHS for 14 years - she is a teacher of Drama and a member of the Achievement Team. She is the co-chair of the youth voice group for the Manchester Cultural & Educational Partnership and the Creative Influencers. She is also co-chair of Z-Arts Board of Trustees. Lizi is part of the National Theatre Teachers Network. In addition to this, she has just helped create the Manchester Drama/English Teachers network, working with a group of theatres across Manchester.
Diannah has taught languages across the North West for more than 20 years and is currently Assistant Curriculum Leader for Modern Foreign Languages. She is passionate about language learning and has spent her career supporting opportunities for students to travel and study in Europe. She was an ambassador for the British Council for 12 years and has also worked in teacher training.
