Year 10 Drama students received an amazing opportunity to work with Kenny Wing Tao Ho, actor and dancer to develop their Physical Theatre skills.
Currently on tour with the internationally acclaimed Gecko Theatre Company, Kenny took time away from rehearsals to visit Chorlton High. He delivered an outstanding workshop, exploring themes of identity, place and belonging, through movement, breath work and creativity.

Students worked together in pairs and received individualised expert guidance from Kenny.
In preparation for this visit, our students watched Kenny perform in ‘KIN’, a stunning work about identity, place and belonging, previewing at Home Theatre, Manchester.

This true story is told through movement and presents the journey of two families from Palestine across Europe. Multiple languages are employed throughout, highlighting nationalities, and examining backgrounds to provide audiences with access to the widest range of storytelling. It explores the themes of racism, family, migration, and home, combining dance with a beautiful score from Syria, Palestine, and India.

Our students were entranced by this emotive and incredible work. Our huge thanks to Kenny for this wonderful and enlightening experience.

‘KIN’ will debut at the National Theatre in autumn 2023.
