Transition read - Granada Reports ITV

We were (super) excited to welcome Granada Reports ITV into our Library to film a news segment for the launch of the ReadMCR Transition book, Quiet Storm by Kimberly Whittam. Keith Bardsley from Manchester City Council returned to speak with our Year 7 ‘Pupil Voice’ students and thank them for their helpful feedback during a Transition meeting earlier this term.

Students were thrilled to appear on ITV later that evening (05/07/24,6-6.30pm) with author Ms. Whittam and Mr Bardsley. In addition, they also filmed some lucky Year 6

Transition students, who alongside fellow students across the region, will receive their very own copy of Quiet Storm.

In fact, the exceptional ReadMCR campaign has gifted 40,000 books over 5 years, to connect Years 6 to 7, helping students to find common ground, build vocabulary and underpin the importance of reading to educational outcomes.
