Image of Junior Leadership Team

The Junior Leadership Team is a brand new, pro-active student body working across various community activities and projects aimed at social betterment for all.

Split into smaller teams, students' focus on particular initiatives where they will work to create opportunities to problem solve, challenge, and contribute to make change happen. Collaboration between Year groups, with Senior Leadership and alongside local organisations, fosters essential life skills including communication, teamwork, decision-making, and empathy, shaping members into capable, confident leaders. Fundraising efforts through events such as bake sales, charity fundraisers, food and clothing drives help to enhance awareness, whilst campaigns for sustainability, mental health and diversity strengthens our community-focused ethos.

The Junior Leadership Team, whether in individual groups or as a whole, will be instrumental in advocating for positive change and is committed to expanding its scope, listening to as many ideas, and celebrating as many voices as they can. The record of our previous School Council and Leaders, indicate a strong potential for supporting successful networking within Chorlton High and developing local outreach for partnerships beyond, serving as a solid foundation for sustained change and increased student influence.

Arts Leaders

At the end of Year 9, students are offered the opportunity to become an Arts Leader when they move into Year 10. To apply for this role, students provide a detailed application form, discussing their reasons for wanting the role and what they hope to achieve. A practical interview begins round two of the selection process with prospective leaders directing or choreographing a small group of Year 7 performers.

All who applied displayed professionalism and maturity, representing our Chorlton High Arts community beautifully. Our congratulations to successful applicants, now our Arts Leaders.
