All the statistics tell us that full attendance at school can directly influence the number and grades of GCSEs that a young person leaves school with. Just being in school every day during the three years of your GCSEs can potentially make between two or three grades difference. Surely reward in itself?
At Chorlton High School we like to give our students even more!
Throughout the course of this year, students with excellent or improved attendance have been entered into weekly and half termly draws where they can win between £10 and £50 Trafford Centre Vouchers.
Students are also rewarded with ‘Queue Jump’ and ‘Free Break Time Snack’ Vouchers for the canteen, just for being in school on time every day.
And at the end of last half term, all students in Years 7 to 10 who had 100% Attendance so far this year were invited to a Reward Event in the Blue Box Theatre on the last afternoon where they enjoyed a cinema event complete with popcorn.
From this half term, students are going to be reflecting on their own personal attendance during form time every Monday with our Be Ready Monday Sessions.
