Maybe you are:

  • a freelancer and your work has dried up
  • self-employed and unable to work at the moment but are not entitled to Universal credit
  • furloughed and already are on a low wage

THE BREAD ABD BUTTER THING (TBBT) is a charity that makes life more affordable for people on a low income. Our mission is to create a fair solution for people in poverty and our long-term aim is to address the premiums that people in poverty pay for food, loans, energy and other everyday essentials simply because of their personal circumstances.

 

QUIDS IN is a unique volunteer-run food club is aimed at the many households in south Manchester struggling to feed their families each week. ‘Quids In’ offers up to £15 worth of food for just a £2 weekly membership fee, which helps pay Fareshare, the charity that supplies the food.
Unlike food banks, Quids In is an ongoing membership offering fresh and chilled items that can be difficult to find and expensive to buy locally.

 

EXCLUDED offers assistance for those who need help with funding that does not have to be repaid. From Restaurants, cafes, pubs and music venues to hairdressers. To survive and help with re-opening when you can.

 

END CHILD FOOD POVERTY provides a map to find emergency food support and links to government schemes available to you.

MANCHESTER.GOV.UK Community Response

Manchester Community Response is available to support If you need help you can get it by calling 0800 234 6123. You can also text 07860 022 876 and we will respond by the next working day. They are able to support if you are affected by the restrictions and don’t have support. They can support with things like access to food, delivering medication, combating loneliness, helping with fuel top ups etc.
