Trust Merger Consultation

As you may be aware, there are many educational changes happening nationally particularly in relation to how schools are organised and how they are financed. Our Trust Board has been considering how the CHS Learning Trust can ensure that is it best placed to deliver a successful future for both of our current schools, Chorlton High School and Newall Green High School. The Trust Board would now like to consult our stakeholders on a proposed expansion of our Trust.

We are proposing to merge the CHS Learning Trust with the local and highly successful Piper Hill Learning Trust to create a new Multi Academy Trust - The Prospere Trust. We are also in discussion with other local trusts about joining our new organisation in the future.

We have produced an information leaflet regarding our proposals - this is available to download below. If you would like to receive a paper copy please contact the School Reception to request one. We will also update our website with answers to Frequently Asked Questions that parents and other stakeholders may raise.

In addition, there are opportunities to come and find out more about our proposals:

  • On the 6th June 2017 at 7pm there will be anInformation Evening’ at Chorlton High School.

  • On the 7th June 2017 at 5.30pm there will be anInformation Evening’ at Newall Green High School.

These meetings will present an opportunity to receive more information about the proposal and raise any issues you may have.                                                

All parents and stakeholders are invited to submit their views and comments to the Trust Board so that they can make an informed decision about the Trust’s future. The issue of merging with another Multi Academy Trust is not about trying to change our existing schools; it is to ensure that our schools are best placed to protect the individual nature and ethos of each school and deliver success for all students in our care.
