As you will be aware today is the anniversary of the Manchester Arena attack.
The events of last year have affected many people within our community in a number of different ways.
Talking about and marking the anniversary is important to our community, but for some members of our school this will be a difficult day. There are a number of students that have been supported by staff and professionals over the last year, and there is additional support in place for them; however, it maybe that other students today may also feel the need to talk.
All form tutors have been asked to spend some time in the morning reflecting with their forms, using resources linked to and supporting the campaign; #ManchesterTogether.
During break and lunchtime students will also be able to write and place messages onto our tree of hope, if they wish to do so.
We also regularly publicize within school, a number of additional support structures for our students to access:

- Kooth : Free online support for young people. https://kooth.com/
- ChatHealth NHS: A messaging service for young people to get confidential advice about health related issues. They can be accessed by texting 07507330205. They can then arrange an appointment with a school nurse. Confidential advice and support.
As a mark of respect, there will be a National minutes silence today at 2.30pm. As a school we have always shared minutes silence together marked by the bell, unfortunately, today this occurs during the GCSE Geography exam and we will be unable to ring a bell. However, it feels right that as a Manchester school we do share in this national moment and therefore we have asked that all classes stop for one minute to mark this occasion.
