Congratulations class of 2016!

Chorlton High School wishes to congratulate all of the students who have contributed to the school’s excellent GCSE results. At a time when examinations are becoming more challenging examinations and new accountability measures have put in it is fantastic to see the hard work of young people being rewarded.

  • 71% of our students achieved 5 or more GCSE grades A*- C
  • 65% of our students achieved GCSE grades A*-C in English and Maths
  • 98% of our students gained 5 or more GCSE grades A* - G

Exceptional Results

  • 168 students achieved at least 1 A/A* equivalent grade
  • 31 students achieved an impressive string of over eight A/A* grades
  • 39% of students achieved the English Baccalaureate 

AS schools are being asked to enable more students to enter for the English Baccalaureate, the school is really happy to announce results that continue to rise well with phenomenal results again in Single Sciences,  French, and History with over 80% of students gaining excellent results in these subjects. However the is also proud to say that is continues it is strong Arts reputation with outstanding results in Art, Drama and Photography.

Several subjects achieved exceptional A/A* pass rates, including:

  • 43% in Further Mathematics
  • 40% in Chemistry
  • 40% in Drama
  • 37% in Biology
  • 37% in History

The school has achieved these results by working closely with students at an individual level so that a cohort of 300 young people achieved academic excellence as well as enjoying the richness of cultural and social experience that thrives in the community of Chorlton.
